Wrapped Asset Risks: A Monad Checklist
A practical checklist covering contract, custodian, bridge, liquidity, and redemption risks for wrapped tokens on Monad.
Contract risk
Is the code verified and audited? Can an administrator pause transfers, upgrade the contract, or mint tokens without backing? Admin keys are not inherently bad, but you should know they exist.
Backing risk
Where is the underlying asset held? Is there an independent, regularly updated proof of reserves? What happens if the custodian becomes insolvent?
Liquidity and redemption risk
Can you redeem directly, or only by selling to another user? Thin markets can make exits expensive during stress. Redemption delays matter most precisely when you need them least to exist.
Your own operational risk
Wrong network, wrong token address, and unlimited approvals cause many losses. Review every wallet prompt and revoke allowances you no longer need.
