Wrapped Ether on Monad
How ETH is represented on Monad through bridges, why it is not the same as ETH on Ethereum, and how to verify the token you hold.
ETH on a different network
Monad is EVM compatible, but it is a separate network. ETH on Monad is a bridged representation, not native Ethereum ether. It cannot pay Monad gas; MON does that.
Multiple versions can exist
Different bridges may issue their own ETH tokens on Monad. Applications might support one and not another. Swapping between versions can involve fees or slippage.
Verification
Compare the token contract with the bridge's published address. Add tokens to your wallet by address, not by searching a name in a list you have not verified.
